Fill in the Blank Friday

1.  The best surprise ever would be  someone from far away knocking at my door, wanting to stay for a while. Or a little vacation. Or a surprise birthday party (I've always wanted that!) .

3.  The hardest, but most worthwhile thing I've ever done was    going abroad and become an au pair thousand of miles from home.

4.  The best part of my day is    the afternoon or early evening, because that's when I feel best.

5. Something I like that most people don't is     cold pasta and parmesan cheese mixed up eaten right form the fridge.

7.  Something you might not know about me is   that I hae a freckle on my inner lip.

The beach, jobs, exams and other news.

Yes, what's new? Good question.

a) At the end of August 'til early October I'll work way up north on an island in the Baltic Sea for 6 weeks. I'll be doing a summer job that relates to my studies, with families and children who are vacationing on that island. I'm excited! The team will be living in an appartement 10 minutes from work and directly at the beach!!! Apparently, you can see the sandy beach and the Sea when you look outside the windows of the appartement. Yay! =)

b) MrChildhoodNeighbor and I have a, uhm, get together (I wouldn't call it a "date" since it wasn't this official "May I ask you out on a date" thing) next week. How I feel about that? I don't know. I'll just relax about it and see what's gonna happen (Haha, who am I kidding here?!?! I'm beyond panicking, like always, and my mind is sick from spinning in circles...).

c) Tomorrow. Big oral exam. If I pass, I'll have my state permit (expr.?) as a Social Worker. Even though I haven't finished my studies. Weird, I know, but as long as I pass, I don't care.
I'm just so super nervous, breaking down style. Last time I had an oral exam was 4 years ago and it was a desaster. I remember one really really bad thing I said during the exam and the rest wasn't better. I still ask myself why the teachers let me pass?!

d) For the Kindergarten sub job, I need a document where all my immunization (shots) are listed. I can't find it anywhere in the house. Neither does my mom. I'm screwed.

Fill in the Blanks Tuesday special delayed version

1.  Something that is very near and dear to my heart is,  my family and friends. They are the most important thing in my life  .

2.     Any achievement    is good cause to celebrate .

3.  The most fun I ever had was   the days at the beach with Zucker and all the goofy time with my host child.

4.  True friends are    the ones who care for you. The ones you might not hear from on a regular basis, but you know that you think of each other all the time.

5. Something that makes me terribly happy is      children's smiles .

6. A good way to spend a sunny day is    chilling and sun-bathing outside at a pool with friends.

7.  My favorite celebratory food is   something I consider a treat the day of the celebration. And actually, I'd say it's cocktails. Because cocktail means hanging out with friends, chill, be happy and often celebrate something  .

7 Quick Takes

Hey there!

I just wanted to let you know that these week's Fill in the Blanks will be delayed by some days.

Thursday morning I'll be on my way up north (north Germany)  for a preparation-workshop-thing for my summer job, coming back Sunday night. =) I'm already quite excited and I have no idea what it'll be like, especially since I only know one person there.

Then the Thursday after that it's the Big Day of my oral exam. I'm beyond afraid, but that's another story.

In the meantime, I got some more information about the program for graduated Social Workers to work in the US I told you about in this post. At the moment, the are searching for visa sponsors and I should contact them at the end of the year. I SO hope they'll have found them until I get my degree.

Oh, speaking of jobs and stuff, it is now official. I'll start working in a "Kindergarten" (pre-school for kids from 2 to 6 years) next week. A friend (well, now she's more of an acquaintance) I got to know through MrFirstLove who works there asked me if I'm interested. And so I went there, talked to the people, played with the kids (gosh they were SO cute!!). Apparently they liked me too. ;) I'll not work regularly, only when one of the teachers is sick. It's kind of a substitute on command job. ;) Anyway, it sounds like fun and I'm excited about it!

I totally forgot updating you on my grand-uncle's current state. He was in the hospital, they got rid of most parts of 2 tumours in his head, the most aggressive kind that even exists. He is better now, in rehab, and will be starting chemo soon... Sigh, cancer running in the family as if it's a gene similarity  like blond hair isn't nice. Nor good.

Ok, last random info of the day (just in case you are interested in knowing): I answered MrChildhoodNeighbor in a way that wasn't like "OMG yes sure I wanna meet and by the way are you single and how about we just get to know each other a tiny bit before getting married and engaged" neither like "No, thanks, you're creepy, I don't wanna be your friend nor anything else".
I tried to make it clear that I would be interested in meeting him and of course in a nice meal. Now I'm just waiting for his answer. (Geez, that sounds pathetic *eyeroll*)

Night night!

Baking and Breaking

Yesterday and today, I've been doing so much stuff in the kitchen, one could think that I'll make an awesome houswife one day.

Or probably not. ;)

Well, anyhow, I actually planned on sharing my experiences with you in detail. But then, I was like Hm, is it interesting how I wrestle with spoons and ingredients? Not so much...

Instead, I chose to let you take part in my Kitchen Adventure by showing you some pics. Hope you like them!

a) Yesterday, I tried Nutella Cookies (thank you Pinterest!). But I did something wrong ('cause I was with stoopid ;D) so they are hard as stones. No pics of them available.

b) Nutella Cake for Esch's birthday party tomorrow. A whole lotta Nutella is in there! *g*

c) A chocolate coconut for mother's day tomorrow.

All the ingredients plus the recipe.

Measuring. Plus FavSis's hand.

Melting the Nutella.

Nutella cookies before they were put in the oven.

Somehow I think we need to clean the oven window...

Mother's Day cake in a Care Bears thingy.

Can you see it's a Care Bear?

Finished Care Bear Rainbod chocolate coconut cake.

A flowery Nutella birthday cake.

The finished flowery chocolaty Nutella birthday cake.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.  On a scale from 1-10 the frequency with which I get sick is  3. If I get sick, I take homeopathic pills that pretty much always help me real fast. =)

2.   The last time I felt sick was   tactually last week. It was some almost-flu-like thing and a hurting throat, but not too bad.

3.  The worst part about being sick is    the sickness itself. Being home, relaxing, watching TV and stuff for some days is fine, but the being sick part sucks!

4. When I am sick I like to be taken care of by    my mom. Unless she's annoying and wants me to drink or eat or take anything that's simply disgusting. Otherwise, I'm happy on my own.

5. Something I do to keep myself healthy is      .

6. A secret remedy that I use when I'm sick is to     sleep. And watch stupid TV shows- does that count?

7.  One thing that always makes me feel better when I'm sick is   natural madicine and people asking how I am or what they could do for me.
